Hi Everyone,
I was born in South Australia in 1961 to Italian immigrant parents. We moved house a few times during my childhood but finally settled on a little five acre block in Geelong, Victoria. I now live in Mission Beach, North Queensland on eleven acres.
I've always been a dreamer and as a child I would lie in the paddocks and look at the sky wondering why I had come to earth. My childhood wasn't a real happy one and I didn't much like being in a body, so I kept waiting for the spaceship that brought me here to take me back. It never came.
Back then most of my free time was spent riding horses and training my dogs. At night I would read just about anything. I loved all the fantastic fables and short stories written in the Children's Encyclopedia's and those books were stacked under my bed along with any orphan bird or the mice I happened to find.
In my twenties I discovered stories by Guy De Maupassant. A late 18th century french poet and novelist and also a mad man, and in my humble opinion, master of horror who later committed suicide in a mental asylum. I was so fascinated with him, his style and his works that I devoured anything I could find. So I can say Maupassant was my inspiration.
It wasn't untill my second relationship ended that I started writing professionally.
Throughout my life. I have worked in many industries from farming to the office and as much as I moved through the motions of living and paying the bills, writing was always there calling and sometimes screaming - get it done.
Life always has a way of leading you back to your dreams. All one has to do is never let them go.
